چکیده
Neuropeptide Y (Npy) is an intricate neuropeptide regulating numerous physiological processes. It a highly conserved peptide known to improve feed intake in many vertebrates, including fishes. To enlighten the mechanism of Npy spotted scat control, we cloned and identified cDNA sequence. We further examined its expression some tissues explored effects at different time frames (hours days). Here, discovered that comprised 300 bp open reading frame (ORF) 99 amino acid was be expressed all examined. Using situ hybridization examination, proved npy has wide brain scat. Furthermore, hypothalamus significantly increased one hour after feeding (p < 0.05). Further, it revealed fish were fasted for up 5 days refeeding from 8th 10th day. This suggests orexigenic peptide, hence, increases food growth Additionally, results vitro vivo experiments locally interacts with other appetite-regulating peptides hypothalamus. research aimed set fundamental study developing regulation, improving reproduction, which significant aquaculture industry

Rapid variation in kidney histology in spotted scat Scatophagus argus on exposed to abrupt salinity changes
In order to study the role of the kidney in fish osmoregulation, freshwater acclimatized juvenile spottedscat (Scatophagus argus L.) were subjected to four different salinities and observed for histomorphometricchanges of the kidney at 1, 2, 10 and 15 days post transfer time points. The overall morphological changesdisplayed by fish kidney included significant decrease in the density of collect...
متن کاملDopamine regulates renal osmoregulation during hyposaline stress via DRD1 in the spotted scat (Scatophagus argus)
Dopamine is an important regulator of renal natriuresis and is critical for the adaptation of many animals to changing environmental salinity. However, the molecular mechanisms through which dopamine promotes this adaptation remain poorly understood. We studied the effects of dopamine on renal hypo-osmoregulation in the euryhaline fish Scatophagus argus (S. argus) during abrupt transfer from se...

متن کاملCloning, Functional Characterization and Nutritional Regulation of Δ6 Fatty Acyl Desaturase in the Herbivorous Euryhaline Teleost Scatophagus Argus
Marine fish are generally unable or have low ability for the biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) from C18 PUFA precursors, with some notable exceptions including the herbivorous marine teleost Siganus canaliculatus in which such a capability was recently demonstrated. To determine whether this is a unique feature of S. canaliculatus or whether it is common to the he...
متن کاملHistological and ultrastructural studies of the olfactory epithelium of spotted butter fish Scatophagus argus (Linnaeus).
The olfactory epithelium of Scatophagus argus (Linnaeus) was investigated by light and scanning electron microscopy. The elongated olfactory organ is made up of 20 to 22 primary lamellae arranged on both sides of the narrow median raphe. Sensory and non-sensory regions are located separately on each lamella. The sensory epithelium occupies the upper apical broad half and extreme basal part of t...
